Scroll down for more photos of the interior of this cottage. As this house is fully centrally heated and only about 40 minutes drive from excellent ski resorts - this is possibly one of our best locations for a winter holiday.

Entering this cottage directly from the street, you are in the comfortable dining area with cheerful rugs - a table setting for six - a radio /CD player with lots of music discs and a couple of chairs for relaxing away from the main living room which is upstairs.

From the dining area you walk through to the kitchen with plenty of benches and cupboards - a gas cook top and oven with range hood exhaust - an electric simmer plate and excellent cooking appliances. Up four stairs in the light well is the laundry with washing machine and dryer - also a toilet.

Up one flight of stairs is the main living room with attractive furniture, rugs, TV, DVD player with quite a few films - a short wave radio - and a growing library of books in both French and English. The two windows look out over the street.

         If there are several couples or a family, it can be helpful to have another room where people
         can enjoy having their own space - work at the desk - enjoy some music or a film.

The main bedroom up one fight of stairs from the living room and half a flight from the bathroom and extra toilet. This large and pleasant room has a with queen sized bed - built in wardrobe and two windows overlooking the street .

The sunny loft bedroom with queen size bed and views to the back of roofs and gardens - and on a clear day - glimpses of the Pyrenees.

Going out the front door and up our little street towards the historical and ancient central Place of Mirepoix which is only about 200 meters from our cottage - passing several shops and restaurants en route.

You are then into the Place-des-Grandes-Couverts the magnificent centre of old Mirepoix - with many up-market shops which sell everything from clothing - books - postcards - food and almost everything else you might need.

- and there are lots of bars and cafes to make up for the fact that there is no terrace or garden at this cottage. Grab a spot in the sunshine and have a coffee or a drink.

Ground floor This is one of our roomiest and most comfortable cottages. The rooms are all large, sunny and pleasant to stay in. Glass front doors lead directly into a roomy dining / living area - a well fitted kitchen - a WC and a laundry are behind, lit by a skylight from the light-well. New gas central heating of hot water radiators heat the entire house. First floor Stairs lead up to a spacious and comfortable living room 21 x 12 ft with windows to the front. Another half flight leads to a tiled bathroom with bath with shower over - basin and another WC. A smaller bedroom with double bunks is next door on the same level. Both these rooms have windows to the back. Second floor Stairs lead up another half flight to the main bedroom - 21 x 12 ft with windows to the front. There are queen sized beds in both this and the loft bedroom - also built in wardrobes. Loft floor Another half flight of stairs leads up to the largest bedroom in the loft - about 16 x 14 ft. This bright and sunny room has windows on two sides. This cottage will sleep six people and a baby however it is only fair to say that if there were to be 3 adult couples then the bunk bedroom is smaller than the other two bedrooms. Central heating make it an excellent and easy cottage for winter stays.
