Looking down on the vast living room with original chestnut beams each one with roman numerals.
. On the left doors lead out to the terrace and stairs lead down to the bedrooms, bathroom and WC.
On the right dormer windows look out over extensive views.
The ceilings here are actually crooked as this cottage was formally an 18C barn.

All 3 bedrooms are on the ground floor - the living room and kitchen are above with dormer windows.
Because the cottage is on a slope, the back terrace goes straight in to the living areas.

The fireplace end of the living room with a comfortable lounge suite, books, CD, DVDs
and a really warm wood slow combustion fire - we supply the cut wood. 
During winter 2004 we have had a new window installed - see above beside the fireplace 
which lets in a lot more sunshine and gives a view back towards the old village.

The living room here is very large and we have a long table and 8 chairs -
Here we are all set up waiting for dinner guests.
Although there is the larger table and chairs, we often like to eat at the small table by
the window - looking out over our sweeping views down the valley and 
over to the hills beyond - see photo below. 
La Teulière is very high so the views are magnificent from all parts of this tiny village -
this photo was taken though our living room window at dusk. 

The kitchen has a double sink, gas stove, a new self defrosting fridge and microwave oven.
The glass door leads out to the terrace - great for meals outside with an Aussie barbecue.

by a half height wall. Right - stairs lead downstairs to a hall off which are
the three bedrooms, bathroom, WC and a laundry with washing machine and tumble dryer.

and the third has one single and another full size single which pulls out.
The terrace is a great place for eating outside - with an excellent large barbecue 
and table and chairs - doors lead directly into the living room and the kitchen.
We drive our car right up on to the terrace but you can leave several cars on the drive.

Looking back down our drive back towards the neighbours and the old village.
The roof of this cottage is most attractive - en Lauzes - large rounded slabs of schist rock.

The cottage
La Grange is a spacious and sunny stone house full of rustic charm.  
Originally an 18C barn, the house retains many of its original features with a huge living room,  
brick floors, rough-rendered whitewashed or stone walls and ancient chestnut beams.
 
Upper level
Very large main living-dining room aprox 40 x 20 ft with lounge suite and dining setting,
cheerful rugs and dormer windows looking out over the valley. The kitchen, separated by a half height 
wall has a double bowl sink, benches, refrigerator and gas stove. A large stone-paved terrace with 
outdoor furniture and gas barbecue comes off the living room and kitchen. 
 
Lower level
A staircase goes down to the three bedrooms, 2 with double beds, one with 2 singles beds and cot.
Bathroom with bath and shower over.  Sep.WC and laundry with washing machine and clothes dryer. 
Slow combustion wood fire heater. Cut wood supplied. 
Extra gas and electric heaters. Electric storage HWS. Telephone.
Car parking beside the house on the terrace or the drive.

Sleeps 5 people plus extra child in pull out single - plus baby in cot.
