The Lot region
La Grange à la Teulière is a rustic
honey coloured stone house situated in the tiny high
village of La Teulière - close to St Céré and Bretenoux
- between Brive-le-Gaillarde and Cahors.
The region next to the Dordogne, the Lot has a special appeal of its own,
with many
tourist attractions close by. The views down the valley from our village are
exceptional
and the countryside is unspoiled and studded with mediaeval villages listed
as
the most beautiful villages in France. The Lot also with some of the
most popular sites
in France -the Gouffre de Padirac, Rocamadour and St Cirq-Lapopie.
This is the country of castles;
spectacular high and low villages;
abbeys; gorges; gentle river and pastoral landscapes;
Cahors and local Glanes wines; cépes, terrine-de-campagne,
chestnuts and cabecou goat cheeses; high walks with remarkable views;
jazz and music festivals; and wonderfully parochial local fêtes,
fairs and fireworks.
The Village of La Teulière
is situated high above the upper reaches of the River Dordogne
- in an excellent position to explore all of this beautiful region which
has possibly as many of
the listed Most Beautiful Villages of France as the Dordogne.
